IWAFA periodically conducts Water Footprint Reporter and Expert Verifier Trainings within the framework of international standards and guidelines. These trainings are organized by Lead Verifiers or Reporters in accordance with ISO standards. Those who participate in the training and successfully complete the assessments are issued a CERTIFICATE, thus registering and certifying them as IWAFA verifiers in the system.
Since the calculations are verified by verifiers or authorized verifiers and presented in a verified water footprint report, IWAFA evaluates internationally authorized ISO 46001 Auditors, Lead Auditors, and Water Footprint Verifiers and presents this information openly and transparently to third parties.
Verifiers are specifically ISO 46001 standard auditors and individuals authorized under the following standards:
ISO 14046:2014: The internationally recognized standard for environmental management. ISO 14040/14044: The overarching standards for Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), which provide the methodological foundation for ISO 14046 water footprinting,
